Islands first, Athens later.
Greece is at its best when you commit to two or three islands rather than trying to sample everything. Santorini and Mykonos are the famous pair, but Naxos, Paros and Crete give more space for the money and feel less like a film set.
Our packages bundle hotel + island ferry passes where possible. We don't book July-August unless asked — heat, crowds and prices all spike together. The shoulder windows are why locals travel then.
Best time to visit
Mid-May to late June, and September. Water is warmest in September.
